H-1B Visa Cap Reached for FY 2010

As of December 21, The US Citizenship and Immigration Services have announced that it has received a sufficient number of H-1B petitions to reach the statutory cap for the fiscal year commencing 1 October 2009.

Petitions for H-1B visas for the fiscal year commencing 1 October 2010 may be filed from 1 April 2010.

EB-5 Regional Center Program Extended

The EB-5 Regional Center Program has been extended until 30 September 2012.

ESTA - Electronic System for Travel Authorization

From 12 January 2009, all nationals or citizens of Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries who plan to travel to the United States for temporary business or pleasure will require an approved electronic travel authorization prior to boarding a carrier to travel by air or sea to the United States under the VWP.

Visa Waiver Program Extension

From 17 November 2008, nationals of the following countries may be eligible to participate in the Visa Waiver Program: Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and the Republic of Korea. Nationals of these countries must obtain an electronic travel authorisation under the Electronic System for Travel Authorization and must otherwise be eligible to travel visa free to the US.
